Recipe for Bloodthirsty Blood Orange Saison

Saison, All-Grain

5 gallon batch

Ingredients

Grains
9.3 lbs 2-row German Pilsner
1 lb Rahr White Wheat
8 ozs Briess 2-Row Caramel 20L
8 ozs Weyermann Munich I

Hops
.5 oz Magnum, 60 mins
1 ozs Tettnang, 5 mins

Yeasts
Safale BE-134 dry ale yeast

Original recipe from Northern Brewer.

Mash schedule

Add 16.92 qts water @ 167.4° F
Saccharification rest for 60 min @ 152° F
Add 8.22 qts water @ 212° F
Mash out for 10 min @ 170° F
Sparge with 9.73 qts water @ 170° F

Fermentation schedule

Primary for 14 days @ 68° F
Add 3 lbs, 1 oz of blood orange purée with secondary
Secondary for 14 days @ 72° F
Keg 14 days @ 74° F
